Rob McDonough is a Senior Consultant at VBC. Rob leads the Model Validation and Certification teams, provides senior review and strategic consulting in ALM, Balance Sheet Strategies, oversees product/service development and engages in business development. He has spoken on various ALM topics with numerous financial institution boards, risk committees and at local, regional and national conferences.
Previously Rob managed the operations of Angel Oak Consulting Group, a bank risk management advisory practice focusing on ALM model validations, DFAST/CCAR stress testing assessments, and regulatory compliance. His team also performed independent certifications of the Empyrean, BancWare/Ambit, ProfitStar and THC models. He was formerly Angel Oak’s Chief Risk Officer and developed the firm’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework and also directed the regulatory compliance program.
He also served in the Federal Reserve System for 12 years, first as an Economic Analyst in the Research Division and later as a Capital Markets Examiner in Supervision and Regulation at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Board of Governors in Washington, DC.
Rob earned an M.B.A. in Finance and Economics from Georgia State University and a B.B.A. from Emory University.
